Wayne Action for Racial Equality announces the 2024 Timothy Barber Memorial Scholarship Award Recipients

WARE is pleased to announce this year’s Timothy Barber Memorial Scholarship Award

recipients. The scholarship awards, totaling $4,000, are given out to graduating high

school African American/Black seniors who are accepted into an institute of higher

learning for their continuing education.

This year’s recipients are Leah Yonge, Clyde-Savannah High School; Danielle Carr,

Clyde Savannah High School; and Jaelyn Drain, Pal-Mac High School. Eligible seniors

submitted applications including essays to the Timothy Barber Memorial Scholarship

Committee this past April of 2024. In days to come WARE will release short biographies

of this year’s Award winners. For more information about the Timothy Barber
